Origa Standard AZ Series to transition over to Parker P1D Series ISO 15552 Actuators
Post date: Jan 1, 2010 9:29:29 AM
In order to avoid duplication of ranges, maximising the economies of scale and providing Sales Companies with clear directions, we have been actively reviewing the rationale of this product line in terms of customers, volume and competitiveness.
One of the main objectives is to prevent losing any customers and related sales and minimize the negative impact of change when it occurs.
Therefore we hereby inform that the ORIGA standard profile and tie-rod AZ Series ISO 15552 cylinders bore 32-100 mm will transition over to the Parker P1D platform, which is the Global ISO 15552 Cylinder Series.
Both series are following the ISO Standard and are interchangeable, with key features of the P1D being PUR seal technology throughout, wide range of versions (e.g. Clean, Tie-Rod, Rod Lock, Built-On Valve) and food approved grease.
For the complete cross reference table, see enclosed list (Excel file “AZ series to P1D Cross-Reference-List October 2009.xlsx”), tab AZ to P1D Cross Ref. In this document, tab AZ vs P1D Techn Spec, you also find a table showing the difference between the two ranges for the E dimension (square dimension of the end covers).
Please also note the transition to the global cylinder mountings and sensors, which is included in the cross reference list (scroll down in tab AZ to P1D Cross Ref).
The time schedule for the transition of AZ standard cylinders is as follows.
- The process of transition will start on 1st January 2010 with the hope to be completed by the end of the fiscal year in June 2010.
- The Origa catalogue will be merged with the “new” Linear Rod Actuator product catalogue and updated accordingly. It will show a statement “Not for new design” under the AZ product line.
- We request that each sales company work actively with the customers to change over as smoothly as possible. Actuator Business Unit will support on demand.
During the transition process the AZ Series will remain available. Existing Customer Special Design Cylinders based on the Origa AZ Series and the non-standard versions of AZ (high temperature, hydraulic operation, metal wiper, twin rod, with locking unit etc.) will continue to be available. These versions will be replaced in a second phase.
